The Minister announced increased police training and ongoing promotions, while addressing a shortage of nearly 40,000 officers. Recruitment is underway, including absorbing 10,000 Civil Security personnel and adding 10,000 new recruits this year.

He emphasized that improving efficiency, crime control, and public relations is as important as numbers, highlighting special efforts against the rising drug problem. The police face expanding responsibilities, requiring better management and skilled officers.
