Nepal and China have signed an agreement to launch the second phase of the Kathmandu Ring Road expansion, covering the 8.2 km stretch from Kalanki to Basundhara. The project, backed by about Rs 11 billion in Chinese grant assistance, includes road widening, a concrete bridge, pedestrian overpasses, and improved street lighting. The initiative aims to enhance urban mobility, safety, and connectivity, building on the earlier Koteshwar–Kalanki expansion completed in 2019.
